Do you know what it's like to be thirsty, and only have a few drops of water left in the bottle?
Do you ever feel like you wanted more...
so much more?
The Lifegiver Model:
Our culture believes in and teaches a mind centered model for man. Accordingly, whether the problem is alcohol, drugs, sex, or anger, the answer is always "education." The Lifegiver Model teaches a heart (or spirit) centered model. One of the key functions of the spirit is connecting us to God and to others, a connection that goes far beyond the limitations of the mind or the emotions. The lifegiver model explores the laws of the spirit realm that govern our ability to connect.
People from addictive backgrounds who have heard this spirit centered model taught have said, "You are the first "normie" that has ever understood what I am going through." (A "normie" is someone without a drug or alcohol background. Most addicts feel like others cannot comprehend what they are going through.) This model speaks a truth that resonates to the addict and the normal person, to Americans and across the world.
In today's world, we send those struggling to any kind of professional, hoping that something will help. The church has minimal authority to bring effective change. Jesus declared that "the gates of Hades should not prevail" against the church (Matthew 16:18). We believe that part of the reason for this lack of authority is that the church has mimicked the secular model which is mind or sometimes emotion centered. When we return to a spirit centered model, it reflects reality in a way that speaks especially to the unchurched and to those in need.
Part of the transformation process according to the lifegiver model is giving away what has been received from God and others. Thus the name: lifegivers. God has designed us so that we grow the most when we are actually engaged in the lifegiving process. The lifegiver model challenges people not just to hear truth, but to be givers of life to others.
Conferences:
David has spoken in a variety of settings, from prison to statewide meetings, from local to international. He comes on an expenses plus love offering basis.Conferences available range from a single message to an intense weekend, from ministering to pastors, to ministering to churches, to ministering to those in prison. Whether the topic is intimacy with Christ, spiritual growth tools, marriage, or spiritual gifts, these seminars are designed to bring life transformation.
-
Perhaps the greatest passion of the ministry is the intense retreat setting, where there is an opportunity to radically impact the participants' lives. The heartbeat of this ministry connects well with those who have a passion to grow, but find they are missing some vital keys. Primary topics of retreats are in the areas of:
- Intimacy with Christ
- Understanding the spiritual realm
- Overcoming life obstacles
- Spiritual gifts
- Spiritual disciplines
- Prayer
Pastor and Church Coaching:
We provide consultation to help pastors and churches change from the "come to our program" model that is common to the more individualized and nurturing approach of the lifegiver model.
For over 30 years, David has had a calling to work with pastors and churches. Through the years, that has taken on many forms from individual mentoring, accountability relationships, and pastors retreats to more formal coaching arrangements.
David has been a part of a coaching cohort organized in Kansas churches under the directrion of Drs. Wayne and Sherry Lee. As a part of the cohort, he has been responsible for coaching 3 churches, walking these churches through a process of self-evaluation to implementation of goals and strategies for improvement. The process takes a systematic look at all areas of the church. Many times, churches have a single area of deficiency that is blocking them from being able to grow. A trained outside observer can often be a key to help churches better define their vision by overcoming weaknesses and maximizing strengths.
Does your church have any sense of the unique place it has in the Kingdom of God?
Does both the pastor and the church know the difference between the pastor's call
and the call God has for the church?
Our Coaching Philosophy

Just as every individual is uniquely created and has a life calling, so too every church is specifically created by God with a unique call. We believe the Holy Spirit guides individuals to the church with the very passions and gifts needed for the church to complete its call. If we listen to individuals within the church, we begin to hear the vision of the church emerge from the collective passions of the individuals. Once a direction is determined, the rest of the coaching process is figuring out the best way to get there. We need to see people's giftedness relative to the overall vision. This is a much individualized approach than the typical "one structure fits all" approach of most churches. it allows the church to be built around the Spirit's call and the people's gifts.
Basic Process:
- Have an initial interview with staff to go over basics of the coaching process and to set up a calendar of working with the church for the first year.
- Interview a varied group of people from the church to get a feel for the hearts of the people and thus the vision of the church. It also provides an initial opportunity to see some of the gifts God has placed in the church.
- Follow up with staff to clarify some basic insights and to help establish a group that is willing to work with the coaching process.
- Meet with a cross-section group of leaders from the church for an extended time of prayer and seeking God to bring into focus the vision of the church and some initial priorities for moving forward.
- Maintain regular contact with the pastor and the church leaders as needed and plan to help them implement vision strategies.

The lifegiver model is based on universal truth principles detailed in the Scriptures. Because of this, David's teachings have been very enthusiastically embraced in many nations around the globe. (This picture was taken during a pastoral mentoring time in India.)
